A Couple of shops on the Streets
From Adrienna Ogin
Are you visiting Edmonton for the first time, and like me you are fairly confined to fringe central because either you are a performer or your main focus is seeing as many plays as possible? Yet you would like to maybe get a little somethin’ somethin’ for someone? We’ll I like candy and music. Me too you say? Well I just happened to walk into two cool stores today, one is Coney Island Candy. You’ve seen one candy store you’ve seen them all you say? What, did the child in you die? You hate Willie Wonka? Then this post is not for you, but if you like candy, you gotta check out this store. It is on 82nd Ave, and is a mouth full of cavities just waiting for you! Waiting! In my infinite wisdom I have decided to get all the disgusting gummie candy, like brains and guts and rats you know… and send those to my friend back home who luvz candy and he will appreciate at it as much as I will enjoy picking out the brains and sour bones.
If candy isn’t your thing, what about popping next door in to Megatunes a great music selection of both albums and cd’s plus the staff is totally cool not at all musically snobbastic. In fact, when I said, what are some good Canadian bands and after a bit of music taste, he kindly lead me to a few choice bands, that I immediately forget, but I’ll look again tomorrow. Then I said, you guys got any good metal and he willingly lead me to Bison. See so nice. I have a friend that will much appreciate some Canadian metal.
Music and candy and some shows, I thought it was a pretty good fringe day, I even ate at the taco cart which wasn’t bad, the papps was pretty good, but I don’t think it is my favorite cart. I’ll keep searching.
