Pinter’s Briefs
From Gemma Wilcox
I have been pretty hopeless at seeing many shows here in Edmonton. I have been pretty “showed-out”, so to speak, from the past 3 fringes, however, I did make my way over to the BYOV where “Pinter’s Briefs” is playing: my 4th show. It is in the most gorgeous theatre. Really intimate and clean and great site lines, and lighting, and seats, and vibe in the theatre. The show was professional, and slick, and thoughtful, and crisp, and sensitively performed, and really well acted, and very funny, and confident, and definitely worth the trip out to see. The 5 short acts by Pinter are engaging, really well directed, full of really amazing pauses, and painfully mundane moments. Some fantastic characterisation and mannerisms and quirks, not only through voice and gesture, but also in the breathe and silences. Go see.
